This particular option consists of 200 total hours and provides students with an intense training curriculum focused on venipuncture and its practice. The curriculum is divided between classroom learning and clinical experience that provides students with an opportunity to utilize the skills that they have learned in a functioning medical environment.
The curriculum is divided as follows: 80 hours of hands-on classroom training and 120 hours of clinical externship. Upon successfully completing the training, graduates become eligible to sit for a national certification exam which is offered by the institution several times per year. The goal of this training program is to prepare students for the responsibilities that they will encounter when they begin working in the healthcare industry.

The curriculum of this option is divided into an online portion and a hands-on portion. Days 1 and 2 of training can be completed on the Internet, and consists of lessons and quizzes that can be completed at your own pace. The third day is a hands-on training day that can be completed at the location designated by the company. This day can only be completed when students have successfully completed the first two days, and it is included to provide students with hands-on practice utilizing the skills that they learned during the online training.
In order to be accepted into this program, students must have a high school diploma or GED and upon successfully completing both portions of training, students will receive a certificate of completion via email.
Quincy College
