Carrington College

Programs Offered: Phlebotomy Technician Program

Carrington College offers a phlebotomy program. The program covers the procedure and techniques of blood collection, body system anatomy, related equipment and supplies, and more.

During the program, students need to complete at least 100 unaided blood draws in a clinical setting, and perform hands-on lab work at campus.





College of Southern Nevada

Programs Offered: Phlebotomy Certificate of Completion

Location: Charleston Campus - Las Vegas (6375 W. Charleston Blvd., Las Vegas, NV 89146); Cheyenne Campus - North Las Vegas (3200 East Cheyenne Ave., North Las Vegas, NV 89030); Henderson Campus - Henderson (700 College Dr., Henderson, NV 89002)

The College of Southern Nevada conveniently has three campuses that provide Phlebotomy training. These campuses are located in Las Vegas, North Las Vegas and Henderson. Students who enroll, are accepted and successfully complete the Phlebotomy training program at CSN will be awarded a Certificate of Completion.

This program can be completed in one semester and includes 6 credit hours. Potential students have the option of beginning classes in the spring, summer or fall. Students will also be required to complete a 120 hour clinical practicum. The clinical practicum is generally three weeks long and includes 8 hour days, Monday through Friday. The tuition of this program is $540. Additional costs may include books, lab fees, physical exam, uniforms, application for certification, Nevada licensure, health insurance, drug screening, background check and college admission fee.



Medical Skills for Life Institute

The Medical Skills for Life Institute, located in Las Vegas, NV, offers Phlebotomy training that leads to a certificate of completion.

  This program includes comprehensive instruction and teachings for future Phlebotomists to gain necessary skills and knowledge. The Medical Skills for Life Institute focuses primarily on vocational education for those who want to enter the medical field and need medical training. They provide small classes to ensure more individual attention and one-on-one training. The institute offers scholarships for those who may be in need of financial assistance to begin or continue training.

In this program, students will learn the necessary techniques to draw blood, prepare blood samples and analyze and test those samples. Students who successfully complete this program will be able to become a certified Phlebotomist.



Northwest Career College

Programs Offered: Phlebotomy Technician Program

Northwest Career College, located in Las Vegas, Nevada, offers a Phlebotomy Technician Program.

The phlebotomy program is a short and rigorous program that will prepare students to work in a lab, medical office, hospital or other medical facility. Students will be trained on the proper ways and techniques to draw blood. Classes for this program include: Health Care Structure, Safety in Health Care, Medical Law & Ethics, Medical Terminology, Laboratory and Laboratory Tests, Venipuncture Procedures, Hematology, and Point of Care Testing.

Once students have completed their training, they will be placed in on-the-job training at a local Phlebotomy facility in Las Vegas. Here students will work with real patients.

The program lasts 14 weeks with classes being held Monday – Friday from 9am – 1pm. The total cost for the program is $3200.



Pima Medical Institute

Programs Offered: Phlebotomy Technician Program

Pima Medical Institute, located in Las Vegas, Nevada offers a Phlebotomy Technician Program. Upon successful completion of this program, graduates will be awarded with a certificate of completion as a Phlebotomy Technician. As a phlebotomy technician, they will be prepared to work in hospitals, physician offices or independent labs performing medical laboratory testing. Training will enable them to take blood specimens by venipuncture and micro collection techniques. Phlebotomy technicians can be expected to work as part of a team in a clinical laboratory setting.

This course includes 10 credit hours of training that involve CPR & First Aid, Anatomy & Physiology, Medical Terminology, Introduction to Laboratory & Communication, Phlebotomy and a 160 hour externship. The program can be completed in approximately three months



Phlebotomy Learning Center of Las Vegas

Programs Offered: Phlebotomy Certification

The Phlebotomy Learning Center of Las Vegas is specifically designed for the working adult who is interested in pursuing a career as a Phlebotomist while continuing to work.

In this program, individuals will be trained to draw blood and prepare blood samples for testing and analyzing. This program is for those who are at least 18 years old and have a high school diploma or GED. To gain the certificate of proficiency in Phlebotomy, the individual must complete 49.5 classroom training hours and a 100 hour externship. The program holds classes one day per week for 11 weeks. Each class is approximately 4.5 hours.

Upon successful completion of this program, students will be eligible to take the ASCP National Phlebotomy Technician exam to become a licensed Phlebotomist.



Western Nevada College

Programs Offered: Laboratyory Technician - Phlebotomy Course

Western Nevada College offers a Laboratory Technician – Phlebotomy course. Conveniently, there are three locations for this program, including Carson City, Minden and Fallon.

The phlebotomy course at WNC is offered through the Division of Nursing and Allied Health. In this course, students will be provided with the knowledge and skills that are needed to collect, identify and preserve specimens drawn from patients. This is done by collecting blood specimens by safely performing puncture or venipuncture techniques. The course is a total of 4 credits. This program will prepare students to obtain certification and licensure as a phlebotomist.

Students who wish to enroll in this course must be prepared to provide a record of their immunization shots.
