Allied Medical and Health Services Inc. offers a phlebotomy training program designed for non-licensed professionals, that consists of 98 hours (14.5 days) of training. This time is divided into lecture and laboratory/clinical hours, which are in place to provide students with an in depth understanding of phlebotomy both in the classroom and in a clinical environment.

In order to apply, students must pass an entrance examination for reading comprehension, and they must also pass a physical exam. Applicants should also have their high school diploma/GED equivalent as well as a driver’s license. Once enrolled in the course, students will study anatomy and physiology, safety procedures, how to retrieve blood, potential complications, and more.



During the 40 didactic hours and 58 hours of practical, students must complete 25 skin punctures and 50 successful venipunctures. Upon successfully completing the training, graduates become eligible to sit for a national certification exam.

In order to apply, students must have either a high school diploma or a GED equivalent. In addition to these requirements, they must also have documentation of various vaccinations and a valid CPR card. While studying, students will learn how to withdraw blood, how to effectively enforce infection control, how to perform vital measurements, and more.
