Arizona College offers a two-quarter phlebotomy diploma program that is designed to provide students with the skills that they will need to pursue a career in phlebotomy. Each quarter is ten weeks divided into two five-week sessions, and after completing this on-campus portion, students must complete five weeks (200 hours) of clinical experience off-campus.
Some of the courses included in this curriculum are: clinical office procedures, specialized body systems, laboratory sciences, the body as a whole etc. This diverse training is in place to provide students with the numerous skills that they will need to seek employment in the healthcare industry. Additionally, this school offers flexible morning and evening class schedules for those that would like to attend school but struggle with time constraints.
Arizona Medical Training Institute

The phlebotomy technician program offered here begins with an eLearning portion that must be completed before the on-campus portion of training begins. Upon beginning the on-campus portion, you can choose between daytime or evening classes. The on-campus portion lasts for a (4) four week period and after completion, students must complete the mandated clinical experience that can be completed at various designated clinical sites. During this clinical period, students must complete 100 hours of practicum and achieve a minimum of 120 collections.

GateWay Community College offers a training program that prepares students to correctly and safely obtain blood specimens, as well as other bodily fluids. In addition, this curriculum also teaches students computer skills, some medical coding, and how to interact with fellow future employees and patients.
You can successfully complete this program in as little as 14 weeks and upon successfully completing the curriculum, graduates will receive a Certificate of Completion. In order to apply, you must be at least seventeen and a half years old, have a high school diploma/GED, pass assessment testing and be willing to pay the tuition/fees which cost upward of $2,000.
This option utilizes a variety of classroom curriculum, as well as clinical experience. By practicing phlebotomy in the different settings, students can enter the workforce feeling prepared and knowledgeable.
Medstar Academy

The 200-hour program is composed of 120 hours of didactic education and 80 hours of externships. It's offered in 3 different formats: 8-week day class, 10-week weekend class, and 4-week fast track class. During the class, you will complete no less than 30 needlesticks and 10 capillary sticks. After the training, you will qualify to take National Healthcareer Association (NHA) Testing exam for phlebotomy technicians.
Northland Pioneer College

Northland Pioneer College has a four-credit hour course that is designed to prepare students for a career in phlebotomy. The course is entitled HES 109 Phlebotomy has three (3) hours per week devoted to lecture and three (3) hours of lab class. The curriculum is aimed towards training students in both the practice of phlebotomy and in the act of specimen processing.
In addition, students will also participate in internships at local labs which provide additional practice and give them a chance to apply the skills that they have learned in the classroom, in a real medical environment.
After completing the course, graduates are presented with a certificate of completion that indicates the number of successful phlebotomy procedures that have been completed. Additionally, after completing training, students may be eligible to become a Registered Phlebotomy Technician (RPT).

In order to sign up for this training program you must have either a high school diploma or a GED. The curriculum is enacted throughout three days. The first two days of this training are on the internet only. There will be lessons and quizzes that must be completed before attending the third day of training, which is a hands-on training day and will be held at a designated training facility. Upon successfully completing training, you will receive a certificate of completion that can be printed out for your records, interviews etc.
The curriculum of this training includes basic medical terminology, special procedures, methods to deal with difficult patients, and much more.

The curriculum of the program offered here is designed to provide students with the skill set that they will need to obtain blood specimens by skin puncture or venipuncture on children, adults, and infants. In addition to teaching the proper techniques to utilize while obtaining samples, students will also learn how to handle these specimens safely and correctly.
To successfully complete the training, you must successfully finish 4 credits of prerequisite classes and 4.5 credits of program classes for a total of 8.5 credits. In addition, students must also complete 120 hours of clinical experience after they’ve finished training.
This program costs approximately $800, which includes all course, lab fees, and clinical experience. The textbook will cost you an additional $70 and if the prerequisites are also taken, there will be an additional $150 in textbook fees.
Pima Community College

At Pima Community College, you can receive a Certificate in Phlebotomy in as little as 12-14 credits. In order to be accepted into the program, students must take the Accuplacer exam and receive the minimum scores that are listed on the college’s site. Once accepted, students can complete this program on weekdays or exclusively on evenings/weekends. This option can be helpful for those with limited time.
The curriculum is provided through 12-14 credits of required core courses. The courses include: safety standards in phlebotomy, phlebotomy laboratory practice, a clinical internship in phlebotomy, and more. These classes are in place to provide students with the diverse knowledge that they will need to pursue a career in the medical field. Upon successfully completing the program, students may be eligible to take the National Certification Exam.

Additionally, you will learn how to properly collect and process other specimens.
The program can be completed in approximately three months, and is a total of ten (10) credits. Some of the courses included are: CPR and First Aid, Anatomy and Physiology/Medical Terminology, Phlebotomy, and an Externship. Successfully completing this program can be helpful in obtaining employment as a phlebotomist, or in preparing you to pursue more advanced careers in medicine.

At Yavapai College you can receive a Certificate in Phlebotomy after completing only 9 credits. Upon the successful completion of this curriculum, students will be eligible to take the national phlebotomy certification exam, which can improve one’s chances of obtaining employment as an entry-level phlebotomist.
This training option will teach students how to safely collect and process specimens, how to manage medical records in accordance with HIPAA regulations, and how to perform phlebotomy in an active medical environment. The following courses are mandated for the successful completion of training: Fundamentals of Health Care, Phlebotomy, and an Internship. This certificate program is not eligible for financial aid, so if you must have all fees covered, this may not be an ideal option for you.
