Davis Applied Technology College

This program will prepare individuals to conduct lab tests, collect specimens and perform venipunctures. Students will receive training provided in the classroom, laboratory and clinical. The clinical experience is a 40 hour externship where students will be able to put theory into practice and gain hands on practice in a local clinic, hospital, laboratory, doctor’s office or more.
Individuals who wish to enroll in this program must pass a criminal background check and drug test.
This course costs a total of $495. The program can be completed in two months where students will receive 108 hours of training. Classes are held two days a week.
Dixie State University

This program can be completed in one semester and students will receive four credits. Training will provide students with the ability to draw and obtain blood specimens and other bodily fluids for laboratory analysis and testing. Students will be trained to obtain blood from a vein or capillary by way of vacutainer, syringe, butterfly, heel and finger stick.
Training will include classroom instruction, laboratory exercises and an internship. During the internship students will be able to put theory into practice and gain several hours of hands on training.
Individuals who wish to enroll in this program must pass a 5 panel drug screen, be CPR certified and pass a background screening.
Intermountain Healthcare

Some of these areas include Sandy, American Fork, Tremonton, Salt Lake City and many other locations. Training is provided in local hospitals in each city. Courses are offered throughout the year.
Individuals who wish to enroll in this program must be at least 18 years old, have a high school diploma or GED, speak, read and write English, have at least one year of previous customer service experience (preferred) and must be CPR certified.
This training program can be completed in six weeks and is broken up into two phases. The first phase is three weeks long and is taken place in the classroom. The last three weeks include a clinical externship.
Mountainland Applied Technology College

This is a 60 hour program that can be completed in as little as five weeks. Training will provide students with the abilities to correctly and efficiently draw blood for the purpose of laboratory analysis. Practical skills that students will gain include venipunctures, butterflies, needle to syringe method, IV placement, hematocrits and finger sticks.
The cost of this program is approximately $428 and includes tuition and all other additional fees.
Students who successfully complete this program will be prepared to take the National Phlebotomy Certification and Certificate of Skills Competency examination to become a certified phlebotomist.

This is a Nationally Accredited Training Program. Students will complete 36 hours of training that includes both classroom instruction and extensive hands – on training. Students will be prepared to perform the techniques of a phlebotomist including venipuncture, capillary puncture, finger pricking and more. They will also be prepared to process lab results, do drug testing and other general medical procedures.
The cost of this program is $495. Classes are held from 6pm until 9pm during the weekday evenings.
Upon successful completion of this program, students will be eligible to sit for the national certification examination to become a certified phlebotomist.

The training center conveniently offers several phlebotomy classes each month. Classes are offered during the day and during the evening. Night classes are held at 5pm until 8pm. Day classes are held from 9am until 12pm.
This program will prepare students to sit for the national certification examination to become a certified phlebotomist. Students will then be qualified to work in a hospital, lab, clinic, plasma center, blood service and other health care settings.
The cost of this program is $399 per person.
Southwest Applied Technology college

Tooele Applied Technology College
Programs Offered: Phlebotomy Technician Program
Location: Tooele (66 W. Vine Street, Tooele, UT)Tooele Applied Technology College is located in Tooele, Utah and offers a Phlebotomy Technician Program.
This program will prepare students to draw blood for transfusion, diagnosis or experimentation for those who need treatment for sicknesses or diseases. They will be qualified to work in clinics, doctor’s offices and hospitals where they will be able to perform routine clinical tasks. They will also be enabled to take medical histories, record vital signs, explain procedures, prepare patients for procedures, and assist physicians during blood drawings.
Classes for this program are held on Monday through Thursday from 8am – 8pm and on Fridays from 8am – 12pm. Students will complete approximately 280 hours of training. They will then be eligible to sit for the national certification examination.

This phlebotomy training program is a six week course that meets all requirements set forth by the national exam. Students will be prepared to work as phlebotomists who are able to draw blood by way of venipuncture, capillary puncture, finger pricking and more. They will also be prepared to handle, transport and test these blood specimens.
Upon successful completion of this program, students will be eligible to sit for the national certification examination. While certification is not required in the state of Utah, it is a great way for career advancements in the health care field.
