Alvin Community College is located in Alvin, Texas and offers a Phlebotomy Technician Program.
This phlebotomy program will cover topics such as vacuum collection devices, syringes, capillary skin puncture, butterfly needles, specimen collection on adults, children and infants, patient identification, labeling of specimens, professionalism, ethics and medical terminology.
Students enrolled in this program will gain classroom instruction training as well as be able to take part in a clinical and lab component. The clinical and lab component of the program will allow students to apply what they have learned in the lecture portion of the program. Students will gain hands-on training that is supervised by a clinical professional.
To enroll in this program, individuals must have a high school diploma or GED, be at least 18 years old, pass a criminal background check, and have proof of immunizations.

This program is specifically designed for those who have already completed Basic Phlebotomy and the survey of Microbiology. It will prepare students for entry-level jobs as a phlebotomist.



Austin Community College

This program will prepare individuals for entry level work as a phlebotomy technician in a health care setting such as a hospital, clinic, research facility and more. Students will gain theoretical and hands-on training in the proper ways of drawing blood specimens as well as how to properly handle and analyze the specimens.
Training for this program is made up of three components, including classroom instruction, practice in the on-campus student laboratory, and clinical rotations in a local health care facility. Blinn College

Blinn College offers a Phlebotomy Program in several locations throughout Texas. These locations include Bryan, Schulenburg, and Sealy, Texas.
This phlebotomy program will prepare students to take the national certification examination and gain entry level employment in a health care setting. These settings could include clinics, hospitals, commercial laboratories, large medical offices and blood banks.
This training program will enable students to collect blood specimens by way of venipuncture, skin puncture and arterial collection. They will be able to work with equipment such as syringes, butterfly needles and vacuum devices. Students will be prepared to prevent infections, properly identify patients, properly label specimens, and properly handle specimens.
Individuals who are interested in enrolling in this program must have a high school diploma or GED and be at least 16 years old.



Brookhaven College

This phlebotomy program includes 90 hours of training in the classroom, laboratory and clinical setting.
This program will prepare students to collect blood specimens by way of venipuncture. During the classroom phase, topics such as terminology, anatomy, and physiology will be discussed. During the lab component, students will gain hands-on training in the areas of blood collection procedures. The clinical component will allow the student to complete different puncture methods.
This program can be completed in one semester and includes 30 sessions. Classes are offered from 9am -12pm or from 6pm – 9pm. The program is offered during the Spring semester.
The tuition for this program is $1220.



Central Texas College

Central Texas College offers a Phlebotomy Program. The college is located in Killeen, Texas.
This program will qualify individuals to work in hospitals, doctor’s clinics and other similar related healthcare settings.
The program includes a total of three courses. These courses are Basic Phlebotomy, Phlebotomy Lab and a Clinical Practice. The Basic Phlebotomy course meets from 10:30am – 11:50am on Monday and Wednesday for ten week. The Phlebotomy Lab course meets from 1pm – 4pm on Thursdays for ten weeks. During these phases students will gain training in areas such as infection control and safety, anatomy and physiology, quality assurance and communication skills and professional behavior.
Once students have completed the classroom and lab components of this program they will begin a phlebotomist clinical. This clinical will allow students to put theory into practice.



College of the Mainland

This phlebotomy program includes a total of at least 90 hours of training. Howard College

This program can be completed in nine months. The Phlebotomy Course costs $497 and the Clinical costs $205.



Lamson Institute

This program will lead to a certificate of completion and will allow students to sit for the national certification examination. Students who successfully complete this program will be prepared for an entry level position as phlebotomist in a hospital, laboratory, doctor’s office or other similar health care settings. Students may also become employed as an EKG Technician or Lab Assistant with this program.
Students will gain the necessary skills and techniques needed for performing laboratory procedures such as hematology, bacteriology, urinalysis, electrocardiography, phlebotomy and vital signs.
Students who successfully complete this program will also get their CPR certification.



Lone Star College System

Programs Offered: Phlebotomist Certificate Program

This program is made up of two courses that include classroom instruction, laboratory exercises and a clinical. Students will receive 216 hours of training that includes 96 classroom hours and 120 clinical experience hours. Students will also complete 10 review hours that will prepare them for the national certification examination. This certification examination is offered through the National Healthcareer Association.
During training, students will gain theoretical and hands-on training. Training will prepare them to draw blood specimens by way of venipunctures, as well as how to properly handle, transport and test the blood specimens.

Students will gain theoretical training in the classroom and hands-on practice and training during the laboratory and clinical phases of the program.

Northeast Texas Community College

First Response Medical Training

Pima Medical Institute

San Jacinto College

Vernon College

Programs Offered: Phlebotomy Certification Program

Vernon College, located in Vernon, Texas, offers a Phlebotomy Program that will lead to certification.
This phlebotomy program includes two courses including a 33 hour Phlebotomy I course and a 120 hour Phlebotomy II course. The Phlebotomy I course includes training and instruction that will take place in a classroom and laboratory setting. The Phlebotomy II course includes a clinical where students will put theory into practice.
This class is offered twice during the fall. The Phlebotomy I course is $176 and the Phlebotomy II course is $448.
Upon successful completion of this program students will not only receive a certificate of completion from the college but will also be eligible to sit for the national certification examination to become a certified phlebotomist.
