The classes are a mix of laboratory and lecture. Although passing a national certification exam is important, students will spend the majority of the classroom time in the lab to get acquainted with various equipment and methods.
Students will have an in-class practical exam on the last day of class, and then they will sit down one-on-one with the instructors.
Students will take the written section of the exam through the National Registry of Allied Health Professionals after completing the course and passing their practical exam. Following the end of the course, they will be issued a unique classroom code to use to access the exam.
After passing the exam, students will be nationally certified and authorized to practice in most states, with the exception of Washington, California, Nevada, and Louisiana, which all require in-state licensing.
Most other states, including the numerous places where the school provides lessons, just require national certification to practice phlebotomy.
