Chisholm Trail Technology Center

Programs Offered: Phlebotomist Program

Location: Omega (Oklahoma 33, Omega, OK 73764)

Chisholm Trail Technology Center, located in Omega, Oklahoma, offers a Phlebotomist program. This is a career major program and is a total of 600 hours. The program is available to High School Juniors and Seniors and Adults.
Training for this program will prepare students to draw blood specimens as well as transport and handle them, and finally, test and analyze them for diagnosing illnesses and diseases. Students will participate in classroom lecture, laboratory experiences and an externship.
Courses for this program include Health Career Core Curriculum, Core Medical Terminology, Core Healthcare Provider, CPR, First Aid, Anatomy & Physiology, Clerical Skills & Duties, Safety, Legal Issues & Quality Control, and Phlebotomy Specimen Collection & Processing.
Upon successful completion of this program students will be awarded a Registered Phlebotomy Technician certification.

Great Plains Technology Center

Programs Offered: Phlebotomy Program

Location: Lawton (4500 W. Lee Blvd., Lawton, OK 73505)

Great Plains Technology Center is located in Lawton, Oklahoma and offers a Phlebotomy Program.
This program is under the department of Adult Career Development Education and is offered part-time for the convenience of the working adult. Students will be awarded a certificate upon the successful completion of the program.
The Phlebotomy program at Great Plains Technology Center includes forty – two credit hours of training. Students will participate in didactic, laboratory and clinical practicum phases to complete this program. Training will prepare students to perform the proper techniques for drawing, handling and transporting, and testing and analyzing blood specimens. The testing and analyzing of blood specimens will allow the phlebotomist, alongside a doctor, to properly diagnosis illnesses and diseases.
This program costs $125 with an additional $55 for text books.

Moore Norman Technology Center

Programs Offered: Phlebotomy Technician Program (Adult Only), Phlebotomy Clinical Program

Location: Norman (4701 12th Avenue NW, Norman, OK 73069); Oklahoma City (13301 S Penn, Oklahoma City, OK 73170)

Moore Norman Technology Center offers Phlebotomy programs in both Norman and Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. The center offers two Phlebotomy programs - an Adult Only Phlebotomy Technician program and a Phlebotomy Clinical program.
The Adult Only Phlebotomy Technician program is a 48 credit hour program. This course focuses on the theory component of phlebotomy and will teach students the proper ways and techniques for collecting, processing and distributing blood specimens. Course topics will include safety standards, legal and ethical behaviors and quality control procedures. This course costs $259.
The Phlebotomy Clinical program builds on the theory and lab work completed in the Phlebotomy Technician program. During this course students will participate in a 48 hour clinical. This program costs $165.

Oklahoma State University Institute of Technology

Programs Offered: Phlebotomy Short Term Training Program

Location: Okmulgee (1801 E 4th Street, Okmulgee, OK 74447)

Oklahoma State University’s Institute of Technology (OSUIT) offers a Phlebotomy Short Term Training Program. OSUIT is a public technical institution that is located 40 miles south of Tulsa. It is just one campus of the large Oklahoma State University program. The Institute of Technology focuses on hands-on technical training and education.
The Phlebotomy program that is offered at OSUIT is a short term training program. This training program will prepare students for entry-level positions as a phlebotomist in a doctor’s office, laboratory, clinic or other similar health care settings. Students will be trained in the proper techniques for drawing blood specimens, transporting them, and testing and analyzing them for diagnosing illnesses or diseases.
Students who successfully complete this program will be awarded a certificate of achievement.

Platt College

Programs Offered: Medical Assistant/ Phlebotomy Program

Platt College offers a combination Medical Assistant and Phlebotomy program. The college conveniently has locations throughout Oklahoma, including Moore, Tulsa, Oklahoma City and Lawton.
This is an entry-level program that will prepare students for entry-level positions in medical clinics, phlebotomy labs and physicians offices. Students will be qualified to work as a Physician’s Clinical Assistant, Administrative Office Manager, Phlebotomy Technician or Laboratory Assistant. The program will ensure the provision of critical administrative skills as well as clinical skills.
This program can be completed in just a little over seven months. Students will complete 800 hours of training and will earn a total of 55.5 quarter credit hours.
The cost for this program is $13,500. This price includes the tuition, cost of books and supplies for the entire program.

Rose State College

Programs Offered: Phlebotomy Certificate Program

Location: Midwest City (6420 S.E. 15th Street, Midwest City, OK 73110)

"Rose State College, located in Midwest City, Oklahoma, offers a Phlebotomy Certificate Program.
The program is offered in both the fall and spring semesters and can be completed in one semester. Classes are offered during both the day and evening for the convenience of the student. Students will complete 40 hours of classroom training and 120 hours of clinical training. Classroom training will include anatomy and physiology, specimen collection, specimen processing and handling, and laboratory operations. The clinical training will take place in a CLIA regulated and accredited laboratory and students will complete 100 blood collections.
Upon successful completion of this program students will be awarded a certificate of completion. They will also be eligible to sit for the national board exams to become a licensed phlebotomist.

Seminole State College

Programs Offered: Medical Laboratory Technology Phlebotomy Program

Location: Seminole (2701 Boren Boulevard, Seminole, OK 74868)

Seminole State College, located in Seminole, Oklahoma, offers a Medical Laboratory Technology Phlebotomy Program.
Individuals who plan to apply to this program must be at least 18 years old, have a high school diploma or equivalent, complete the ACT exam, pass a background check, provide proof of immunizations and have an interview with the Phlebotomy Program Director.
This program is offered once a year in May and is completed by the end of June. Only ten students are accepted at a time. It is a 3 credit hour program that includes lecture, lab and clinical practicum components.
Upon successful completion of the program, students will receive a Certificate of Achievement and will be eligible to sit for the ASCP Board of Certification PBT exam.

Tulsa Community College

Programs Offered: Phlebotomy Certificate Program

Tulsa Community College offers a Phlebotomy Program that leads to certification. The college conveniently has five locations throughout Tulsa. This program is specifically designed for phlebotomy trainees who are new to the medical laboratory technology field. This program is approved through the National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Sciences.
This is a seven credit hour program that can be completed in one semester. Courses for this program include Phlebotomy, Introduction to Medical Laboratory Training and a Phlebotomy Clinical. The program is offered in the Fall, Spring and Summer semesters. Only ten students will be accepted into the program at a time.
Upon successful completion of the program, students will be awarded a Certificate of Achievement and will be eligible to take the National Phlebotomy Registry examination.
