This phlebotomy program is a 4 credit hour program. The first 2 credits are made up of classroom lectures discussing anatomy, equipment, specimen processing, safety and more. The final 2 credits are made up of a supervised, 100 hour clinical rotation where students will perform at least 100 documented blood procurements. The total cost of this program is $695 and includes tuition, fees, books, lab coats, back ground checks and more.
Santa Fe Community College

Upon successful completion of the program, students will be eligible to sit for the national licensing examination through the American Society for Clinical Pathology. As a certified phlebotomist, individuals will be prepared to work under the supervision of a clinical laboratory supervisor and will have the skills necessary for collecting, processing and testing blood specimens.
This is a 12.25 credit hour program. Courses included in this program are Basic Life Support – Introduction to Phlebotomy, Clinical Phlebotomy I, Clinical Phlebotomy II and Special Practices in Phlebotomy. This program can be completed in just one semester, or 16 weeks. Students will gain classroom instruction and lecture as well as hands-on training.
