Active Health Institute offers a wide variety of medical training programs, including a Phlebotomy Technician training program.

This course will teach students all about how to be an effective phlebotomist. Some of the topics that will be covered include the structure and function of the circulatory system, the pathology of diseases, law and ethics, universal precautions, infection control, and OSHA and CLIA guidelines and how they apply to a Phlebotomy Technician’s job.







Students will also learn important phlebotomy skills like how to draw blood, how to store blood and blood components, how to perform a venipuncture, and how to complete basic processing.

Students who complete this course can become certified as Phlebotomy Technicians and work in hospitals, doctors’ offices and labs.

Life-Line Med Training

Life-Line Med Training offers a Phlebotomy Technician training program that can be completed in as little as six and a half weeks for full time students.

  This program includes eight courses in total. Five are directly related to Phlebotomy, including PBY 100 – Structure and Function of the Circularity System, PBY 101- Law and Ethics and the role of the Phlebotomy Technician, PBY 102- Phlebotomy Skills Theory and Lab, PBY 103- Specimen Transfer, Accessioning and Processing, and PBY 104- Quality Assurance and Safety Precautions.

The other three courses have to deal with basic medical training, CPR training, and AIDS education.

Students who complete this class will receive a diploma in their field. Once they obtain this diploma and the necessary certification, students may work in a variety of medical settings as Phlebotomy Technicians.



Lindsey Hopkins Technical College

Miami Dade College

Programs Offered: Phlebotomy Technician Certificate Program

Students who want to start their careers in health care by becoming Phlebotomy Technicians can train to do so at Miami Dade College.

This school offers a Phlebotomy Technician certificate program that can be completed in just one semester. The course starts up three times each year, in August, January and May. Both daytime and evening classes are available.

In this program, students will learn how to complete the duties of a Phlebotomy Technician safely and effectively. Students will be trained in venipuncture, capillary puncture, obtaining correct blood specimens, labeling and transporting specimens, and more. In total, this course covers 165 contact hours of training.

Nursing Unlimited

Programs Offered: Phlebotomy Program

Nursing Unlimited is a training school for nurses and other medical professionals that offers a Phlebotomy program for students who are looking to enhance their health care skills.

In order to enroll in this program, students must be at least 18 years old, be able to read, write and speak English, have completed at least four hours of HIV/ AIDS/ BBP training and hold a current certificate of Nursing Assistant.

The program includes 80 hours of Phlebotomy training and a bonus 40 hours of career skills development. This portion of the course deals with computer training, writing development, math, people skills, resume preparation, interview skills and job skills.

Tuition for this program is $600, which includes the cost of books and supplies. Students can pay off the tuition over the course of six weeks, but a $150 deposit is required.



Yechanlaz Instituto Vocacional
