Programs Offered: Introduction to Phlebotomy
Location: 354 Hogan Road Bangor, ME 04401Eastern Maine Community College has a phlebotomy training program that can be completed in only 56 hours. 40 of these hours are spent in the classroom, and the remaining 16 hours are spent in the clinical. Classes are held on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6pm-8pm (for 10 weeks) so please ensure that your availability would allow for evening classes. The clinical will take place on two consecutive 8-hour long days.
The tuition of this training is $545.00 plus the following additional costs: $12.90 Liability Insurance Fee, $90.00-$95.00 for the textbook, and any costs associated with the immunizations that students must get will be the student’s responsibility.

Helping Hands Trade School

571 Sabattus St., Suite 2 Lewiston, ME 04240Helping Hands Trade School offers two separate phlebotomy training options that can help students prepare for a career in the healthcare industry. The first option is called “Phlebotomy Basic” and it consists of 94 hours of training. The curriculum covers topics such as: performing venipuncture and capillary puncture, infection control and safety procedures, basic anatomy and physiology, and more. Applicants must be at least 18 years of age, have a high school diploma or GED, and they must have a health assessment. The tuition of this option is $1,200.00.
The second option is entitled “Phlebotomy Advanced” and it consists of 150 hours of training. Students will receive training in a wide variety of topics that will be needed in the field, but in this option, students will spend 100 hours in their clinical. The tuition for this choice totals $1,600.00.
Kennebec Valley Community College
Programs Offered: Phlebotomy Certificate Training Program
Location: 92 Western Avenue Fairfield, ME 04937At Kennebec Valley Community College, students can receive the training that they will need to pursue a career in the medical field. Upon the successful completion of the program, students will receive a certificate from Kennebec Valley Community College, and in addition, they will become eligible to take the American Society for Clinical Pathology Board of Registry Exam.
Applicants must complete the required proof of immunization form, and they must have a valid Healthcare Provider CPR card prior to beginning the clinical. The entire program consists of 21 credit hours and students must receive a minimum grade of “C” in all courses, and they must maintain a final GPA of 2.0 in order to graduate. The clinical rotations consist of up to fifteen 8-hour days so please ensure that your availability would be able to accommodate the full days.
Northeast Technical Institute

Bangor Campus- 1010 Stillwater Ave Bangor, ME 04401Northeast Technical Institute offers a phlebotomy/EKG training program that is designed to provide students with a diverse skill set that can help them to qualify for entry-level employment in the healthcare industry. This institution offers both a part-time and full-time training option so students can decide which option best suits their schedules and availability.
In addition, the curriculum includes hands-on training in a simulated lab setting that can help students feel confident while they apply the skills that they have learned in a realistic setting. This option also offers FLEX-TRAIN which allows students to work at their own pace, and to customize the program to fit their own lives and schedules. This training can be completed in less than 8 weeks if you choose, so it can be effective for those that need a short term training program.
Washington County Community College
Programs Offered: Phlebotomy Training Program
Location: One College Drive, Calais, ME 04619Washington County Community College offers a 2-semester phlebotomy program.
The program has 25 credit hours, and covers word processing, college composition, first year experience, medical terminology, phlebotomy, college math for technologies, phlebotomy internship, phlebotomy capstone, and human relations. An internship of 80 clinical hours at a medical setting is required.
