This training option is a 10 month program that consists of 57 total credit hours, and the curriculum is divided into three separate courses. These courses are: ANA 101 Anatomy and Physiology (4 credits), PHL 101 Phlebotomy Lab 1 (3 credits), and PHL 104 Phlebotomy Clinical (4 credits).

The curriculum covers topics such as: patient relations, venipuncture, and how to maintain a sterile work environment. Campbellsville University offers a phlebotomy training program that is designed to provide students with the numerous skills that they will need to find success in the healthcare industry. The tuition of this option is $1,999.00 which includes the cost of: malpractice insurance, drug screen, background check, and NCCT exam. Before beginning the clinical portion of this training option, students must have completed a TB skin test as well as provide proof of additional required immunizations. This training option is a certificate program and can be completed in two semesters. The coursework consists of approximately 90 hours of general coursework and 120 hours of a clinical externship. Programs Offered: Certified Phlebotomy Technician Training Program

Kentucky Health Training, LLC. offers an 80 hour phlebotomy training class that can help students train to pursue a career in the medical field. The course consists of 60 in-class hours and 20 hours at an approved clinical site. Additionally, students that would like to become a Certified Clinical Medical Assistant can use this phlebotomy program to count towards the mandated 280 hours needed for that course of study.

The curriculum of this training option includes: venipuncture techniques, first aid, CPR-American Heart, blood borne pathogen training in accordance with ASHI standards, and more. Phlebotomy Concepts is a training institution whose goal it is to train students that would like to become medical professionals. The phlebotomy program is only 10 weeks long, so students can receive the training that they need in a short period of time.

The training is offered on Monday and Tuesday evenings. In order to attend this program, students must have a high school diploma/GED (or presently working on obtaining one) and there is an admissions test required for acceptance. The curriculum is offered through 72 class hours and 176 clinical externship hours which totals 248 included hours in the program. The tuition fee includes the cost of: the textbook, liability insurance, and the uniform. Students will be responsible for purchasing the mandatory white leather shoes that they will need.



Spencerian College

The curriculum covers a wide range of topics which include: labeling and storing blood containers for processing, how to relieve a patient’s fear of the procedure through conversation, assembling equipment, how to draw blood from patients or donors, how to take vital signs, and more.
