ABP, Inc.

Programs Offered: Phlebotomy Technician Training Program

ABP, Inc. offers a phlebotomy training program through Southwestern Michigan College that consists of 9 credits. The class is held from 8:30am to 4:30pm for three consecutive weeks. If this portion of training is successfully completed, students can proceed to the 120 hours at a local clinical laboratory which will enable students to practice the skills that they have learned in a functioning medical facility. If this is completed successfully, a national certification exam will be given after completion.

Classes will be taught in January, May, and September. The tuition of this option is $2,150.00 and this total includes lab fees, lab supplies, liability insurance, and textbook.

Center for Phlebotomy Education’s School of Phlebotomy

Programs Offered: Phlebotomy Certificate Program

Location: 1304 N. Old Hwy 135, Ste. 103 Corydon, IN 47112

The Center for Phlebotomy Education’s School of Phlebotomy offers a certificate program that can help students receive the training that they will need to pursue a career in the medical field.

In order to apply, students must have: a high school diploma/GED, basic computer skills, proof of a Hepatitis B vaccination, proof of a negative TB test or chest x-ray, and more.

The training consists of 96 hours of classroom instruction and 100-120 hours spent at a clinical externship at a healthcare facility in the Southern Indiana/Louisville area. Students can choose between the Fast Track classes or Evening Track classes which are recommended for students that need to study at a slower pace. All externship hours must be completed during the day so please ensure that your availability can accommodate this requirement.



In Training Inc. College of Adult Education

Programs Offered: Phlebotomy Technician Training Program

Location: 1330 E. Commercial Ave Lowell, IN 46356

At In Training College, students can train for a career in the healthcare industry. The curriculum is offered through 64 hours of classroom instruction and a minimum of 120 hours of clinical experience at a local hospital laboratory. During the clinical experience, students must successfully complete a minimum of 100 successful venipunctures and 25 successful dermal punctures.

The classroom portion meets on Monday evenings from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. for 16 weeks, and the clinical sessions meet on Monday-Friday for three consecutive weeks and some early morning hours will be required.

CPR training is available for an additional $50.00 fee, and students can also choose to become TB certified (to give and read TB tests) during their clinical training for an additional $50.00 fee.

Upon the successful completion of training, students become eligible to sit for a national certification exam which can improve their employability as they begin to search for a job.



Indiana University Northwest

Programs Offered: Phlebotomy Technician Training Program

At Indiana University Northwest, students can receive the training that they will need to pursue a career in the healthcare industry. This phlebotomy training program consists of one semester plus 160 clinical rotation hours. The training will begin in the spring semester and the curriculum consists of didactic course work as well as a clinical experience which provides students with an opportunity to utilize the skills that they have learned in a functioning medical facility.

In order to apply to this program, you must have a high school diploma/GED and you must have proof of a physical examination. The program has a total of 15 credit hours.

Ivy Tech Community College offers a phlebotomy training option that can prepare students for a career in the healthcare industry. Upon the successful completion of this program graduates will become eligible to sit for a national certification exam through the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP). Additionally, students that complete the training will receive a Certificate of Completion from Ivy Tech Community College.

The curriculum consists of a total 17 credit hours and is included in the Health Care Support program offered by the college. This college has numerous locations so it could be a convenient choice for individuals living in different areas of Indiana.

The curriculum consists of 24 credits, which totals 6 courses. The entire program can be completed in 2 terms, so this could be a good choice for individuals that are looking for a short-term training option.



Vincennes University

Programs Offered: Phlebotomy Technician Training Program

The phlebotomy training program offered at Vincennes University is a 15-week training program that consists of 90 total classroom hours. This is a non-credit option, so no credit hours will be rewarded to students. Topics covered include: anatomy and physiology, medical terminology, blood collection procedures, and more.

Upon the successful completion of training, students become eligible to sit for a national certification exam which can serve to further improve their employability. Additionally, students that have successfully completed training will also receive a VUJC Certificate of Completion.

The total tuition of this option is $1,349.00 which includes the cost of textbooks. The tuition does not however, cover the cost of the required Hepatitis B vaccine which costs approximately $120.00. Also keep in mind that traditional grants and scholarships are typically not applicable for non-credit programs.
