The phlebotomy certification class offered at the Cambridge Institute of Allied Health and Technology is an 11 week diploma program that has a total of 220 clock hours. The curriculum is designed to provide students with the knowledge, skills, and training that will be necessary to pass a national certification exam, which will then enable them to seek employment in the medical field. Some topics covered are infection control procedures, specimen collection, transporting specimens, and how to perform blood draws.

The phlebotomy training program is only offered at the Altamonte Springs Campus, and the training is divided into two separate courses that are in place to provide students with a thorough understanding of phlebotomy and its practice. The hands-on portion of training is designed to ensure that students become competent in venipuncture, and to increase students’ confidence in their abilities.



Eastern Florida State College

The program starts with 6-week on-campus course with lab, and it is followed by a 10-week supervised clinical work.

The phlebotomy training offered here is geared towards preparing students for the certification exam that will be necessary to become certified. It consists of 80 hours and the total cost of it is $800. A $100 deposit will hold your spot so you are guaranteed a seat.
