Atlanta Technical College offers a comprehensive Phlebotomy Technician training program for those men and women who want to start a rewarding career in health care or to enhance their skill set.
This is a 24-credit hour program. The courses that must be completed are anatomy and physiology, introduction to healthcare, medical terminology for allied health sciences, introduction to computers, fundamentals of English I, introduction to venipuncture, and clinical practice.
In order to enroll in this course, students must be at least 16 years of age and have a high school diploma or GED. Students must also achieve qualifying scores in reading, English and math and maintain a GPA of 2.0 to receive credit for the program.

Med Tech offers a short term Phlebotomy training program that is designed to help students start their careers in as little time as possible. New programs are starting every month, so students do not have to wait for the start of a new semester to get their start at Med Tech.
For the convenience of busy students, this training center offers both weekday and weekend classes. It is also available in two Georgia locations, one in Atlanta and one in Tucker.
This class covers all of the basics of Phlebotomy from washing your hands to drawing blood and everything in between.

Programs Offered: Certified Phlebotomy Technician Program

Medical Career Specialists offers a very accelerated short term Phlebotomy training program that can be completed faster than any other program that is available in this city.
This course is just two days long, but it covers all of the important topics that a Phlebotomist needs to know. The course has four parts, introduction to Phlebotomy, Phlebotomy basics, specimen collection, and specimen handling and point of care testing.
Students will learn to draw blood through venipuncture, dermal puncture and special collections. They will also learn about collecting and handling non-blood specimens.
After completing this course, students can look into taking one of the national certification exams and becoming certified as Phlebotomy Technicians.
Programs Offered: Phlebotomy Training Program
Phlebotomy Services is a traveling Phlebotomy training service that visits sites all over the United States, including Atlanta. They offer a three day long Phlebotomy training program.
The first two days of this program are to be completed online with a mix of online learning and quizzes. After students have learned all about the theory of Phlebotomy, they spend the final day of their training learning Phlebotomy skills with other students.
Some of the topics that will be covered in this course include safety, infection control, skin puncture collection, error prevention, difficult draws, basic medical terminology, legal situations in Phlebotomy, special procedures, laboratory tests and more.

Radium Soft offers a comprehensive Phlebotomy training program for those men and women who are interested in getting their start in health care by becoming Phlebotomy Technicians.
This course includes four weeks of classroom and laboratory training plus 80 hours at a clinical externship where students will gain hands on experience. The program is very structured and includes weekly tests and skill checks. It is a thorough study of Phlebotomy that is sure to prepare students to pass their certification exams and become effective Phlebotomists.
Students will learn about important Phlebotomy skills and issues including the ethical and legal issues related to Phlebotomy, lab safety, medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, blood collection equipment and procedures, specimen handling and more.
Tuition for this program is $900.
